New website for the Sherry Wine & Brandy Route

The Sherry Wine Council has recently introduced a new series of promotional tools for marketing the Sherry Wine and Jerez Brandy Route. It focuses on a recently launched website format aimed at promoting and facilitating tourism-related services and offering visitors information on the entire range of wine tourism experiences available on the Route, all on one single platform.

Sherry Wine´s governing council, the Consejo Regulador del Vino de Jerez. presented this new set of commercial and marketing tools for the Route within the framework of a programme entitled ‘ViveJerez: creating experiences and joint marketing activities for the Jerez Region Wine and Brandy Route”, with funding from Spain´s Ministry for Industry, Energy and Tourism in conjunction with Segittur.

The event was attended by local institutional leaders such as Jerez’ Town Councillor for Cultural Promotion and Heritage, Mr. Francisco Camas; the Director General of the Sherry Wine Consejo Regulador, Mr. César Saldaña; the Rota Town Councillor for Tourism, Ms. Yolanda Morales, along with representatives from the tourism offices in the eight municipalities comprising the Sherry Wine and Jerez Brandy Route as well as company reps from the Route´s group of associate members. After introducing the recently launched website, www.rutadeljerezybrandy.es, discussions centred on its aim to successfully market the wide range of wine tourism-related services and experiences available to visitors throughout the entire Route.

Mr. Camas defined the initiative as

key to disseminating everything that the Sherry Wine and Jerez Brandy Route has to offer through a web-based platform with both commercial and marketing objectives. The Route is an entity that encompasses all of the sectors involved in the region´s wine industry and its development, one that genuinely represents Jerez and has the whole-hearted support of its Town Council.

César Saldaña also expressed his appreciation for the involvement of so many businesses and institutions which have contributed to “giving our institution, the Sherry Wine Council, a new, more modern look” with this new marketing tool, the ideal complement to the recently opened Centre for the Promotion of Jerez Region Wine Tourism.

The new online portal will be presided over by the Consejo Regulador and the Jerez Town Council will serve as vice-president. The Sherry Wine and Jerez Brandy Route is an important step forward, in commercial terms, to guiding today´s tourist towards travel planning of a more personalised nature, allowing travellers to book customised tour packages, discover exclusive experiences or purchase admission tickets to a wide range of the Region´s tourist destinations or wine-tourism activities.

The project is led and coordinated by Dinamiza, a company responsible for designing a new marketing model for the Route and providing the best match for commercial travel supply and demand. Another Jerez-based company, Creaktiva, has been commissioned for the IT development for the web-based platform.

Likewise, as reported by DIARIO Bahía de Cádiz, the event also featured the presentation of a new audiovisual production for the Sherry Wine and Jerez Brandy Route, made by Handa Films, which allows audiences to visualise the attractiveness of their destination as well as some of the most innovative experiences available for them to participate in during their stay.

Another much-anticipated presentation was that of the newly inaugurated Centre for the Promotion of Jerez Region Wine Tourism to the associate members of the Sherry Wine and Jerez Brandy Route.

The Sherry Wine and Jerez Brandy Route winds its way through eight different towns, each capturing the essence of Andalusian culture and one of the oldest winemaking regions in the world. Along with Jerez, there is Chiclana, Chipiona, El Puerto de Santa María, Puerto Real, Rota, Sanlúcar de Barrameda and Trebujena—the stopover points of a route that marks the signs of identity of a unique region with its history, traditions, gastronomy and people. Towns that offer a wide range of landscapes and sceneries—from its golden ocean-lapped shores to the beautiful tranquillity of its countryside—all make the Jerez Region one of the world´s most attractive tourist destinations.
