Tastings, wine pairings, menus, educational sessions – the creativity of participating wine stores, restaurants and bars, and the fantastic events they put on, is always as exciting as it is impressive.

The world’s only week-long global celebration of wine always sees a multitude of events organised in 30-odd countries around the world. Last year’s Sherry Week took place in October, with this year’s restored to its usual date in early November. Just as autumn draws in, it’s a great reason to bring people together to taste their favourite Sherry wines, as well as discovering new ones.

More and more people of all ages are discovering the delights of these aged and blended wines made only in three towns in south-western Spain: Jerez de la Frontera, Sanlucar de Barrameda, and El Puerto de Santa Maria. Sherry wines are a gastronomic phenomenon – they’re so versatile that every type of food matches perfectly with one variety of sherry, from crisp, dry fino, to smooth, sweet Pedro Ximenez.

At hotels, restaurants, bars and wine stores across five continents, Sherry aficionados and newcomers will be able to enjoy multiple events during the award-winning festival, from tastings to pairings and menus, sherry trails and cocktails. This year, we’re looking forward to some great innovations in the retail sector, with lots of stores expected to participate.
