For the 10th anniversary Owen and the 44 team have been planning all year with one of our favourite restaurants in the heart of Jerez.
The aim, to do something unique and truly special to mark the occasion... So, for one night only, we are going to Spain to cook up an incredible collaboration sherry dinner with the one and only La Carboná.
A 9 course seasonal tasting menu awaits, paired with incredible sherries and special guests. With the 44 Group being known in the UK for spearheading the sherry movement over the last 21 years, using creative cooking and pairing as one of those strategies to bring new consumers to the category, it was a natural match with a restaurant like La Carboná.
We also believe this could be a first, going to Spain to collaborate with and cook in a special restaurant, purely pairing with sherry wines. Since its inception in 2013, Owen has been one of the original Sherry Week ambassadors, involved in spreading the sherry revolution far and wide.
The 44 group have created well over 100 sherry events in sherry week over that period, passionately taking sherry to the public in so many different ways. La Carboná is famed all over Spain and further afield for its quality. Chef Javier Muñoz is widely known as the 'chef del Sherry', cooking and pairing with sherry being his speciality and passion.
Sherries for the night have been carefully selected by Antonio and Silvia Flores of González Byass and the pairings are stunning.
