Originally from California, Miquel initially started his wine career, in Napa Valley. While working for a Central European importer as well as an Italian wine shop in San Francisco, he founded the wine book series, Vinologue, in 2007 to focus on reference guides to specific regions in the world.
In 2012 he moved to Spain and is a regular contributor to: The World of Fine Wine, Decanter, and Harpers. He's also a wine judge at various regional events and the Decanter World Wine Awards in London. Miquel has been awarded a number of prizes including: Best Drink Writer of 2017 from the Fortnum & Mason Awards and the 2016 Geoffrey Roberts Award.
