Gökhan Gökalan is an Istanbul-based sherry and whisky educator and the founder of HepsiViski, a Turkish-language whisky and Sherry education platform and community reaching more than 19,000 whisky enthusiasts. His journey into sherry began through whisky. Years of teaching about sherry-matured single malts led him to Jerez, where an interest in seasoned casks developed into a deeper exploration of the wines, bodegas, cooperages and traditions behind them. Sherry soon became a subject in its own right. Today, Gökhan teaches sherry both as a wine category and through its unique connection with whisky, with particular emphasis on maturation, solera systems, biological and oxidative ageing, and the seasoned casks that link Jerez with the whisky industry. He holds the Wine Scholar Guild Sherry Wine Specialist certification and the Edinburgh Whisky Academy Diploma in Single Malt Whisky, is an Executive Bourbon Steward, and qualified as a Certified Sherry Educator in Jerez in 2026. Gökhan hosts masterclasses, private and corporate tastings across Türkiye, and provides trade and professional training in both Turkish and English.
