Ligia Maria Torres Peçanha

She is a former wine lover who took on wine education as a career. The first step toward formal training in this new career was a training on wine tasting, which led her to become a mentor for amateur tasters at the Brazilian Association of Sommelier - Rio de Janeiro. She obtained her WSET Diploma in Wines, followed by a WSET Certified Educator qualifications and a WSG's French Wine Scholar certification. She currently is a faculty member at the Brazilian Wine School Enocultura, where she teaches WSET Level 2 and Level 3 certifications and participates in the Fortified Wines D5 module of the WSET Diploma. She also teaches on the Sommelier Training Course and is mentor of wine tasting at the Brazilian Association of Sommelier - Rio de Janeiro. Passionate about Fortified Wines, she teaches Fortified Wines classes in both Enocultura and the Brazilian Association of Sommelier - Rio de Janeiro. She began a more in-depth qualification in fortified wines, obtaining the qualification as a Certified Sherry Educator.
