In celebration of the 13th edition of International Sherry Week, we're joining forces with Jimmy Smith of Wine With Jimmy for a special online masterclass exploring the wonderful world of Sherry wines.
Whether you're completely new to Sherry or have already discovered a few styles and want to deepen your understanding, this interactive tasting will offer an engaging and enjoyable introduction to one of the world's most distinctive wine regions.
Jimmy will guide you through six classic Sherry styles, exploring how dramatically they can differ in flavour, texture and character:
Manzanilla • Fino • Amontillado • Oloroso • Cream • Pedro Ximénez
Together, you'll explore the key ideas behind Sherry production and ageing, discover what makes each style distinctive and learn how to recognise the differences in the glass. Jimmy will put the wines into context in his characteristically accessible style, giving you the confidence to understand, choose and enjoy Sherry beyond the tasting.
The session is ideal for wine lovers, enthusiastic beginners, hospitality professionals and anyone who has ever wondered what Sherry is really all about. No previous knowledge of Sherry is required.
Participants will also be introduced to the Sherry Academy and its free English-language educational resources, so anyone inspired by the tasting can continue learning afterwards.
