Drake’s Tabanco Takes Tasting to another level

There are five oxidised styles to select from, 25+ year old Antique Amontillado, Antique Oloroso, Antique Palo Cortado, an India (specially blended and made for Drakes Tabanco...the only barrel in existence) and finally the Antique PX. In addition they also sell specially bottled bottles of en Rama fino.

Following on from the Great Sherry Tasting on the evening of the 14th September Drake’s Tabanco held an extra special sherry pairing event hosted by Jan Pettersen of Fernando de Castilla - The perfect host! Tickets for the event sold out within 48 hours of offering them via email invitation to the customer database. Following the event Drake’s received a great deal of positive feedback saying how great the experience was, the food, the sherry, the venue, the atmosphere and the host!

The Pairing Menu was as follows;

Fino en Rama & Ceviche of Sea Bream, Almonds, Cumin Seed and Peach

Amontillado Viejo & Sautéed Mushrooms and Fennel Seed Salami

Palo Cortado Extra Viejo & Course Game Terrine with Blackberry Gravy

Oloroso Viejo & Braised Iberico Pig Cheeks

Rare Old India & Vanilla Ice Cream with Caramelised Walnuts

Pedro Ximinez Extra Viejo & Picos Blue Cheese with Oat Cookies
