Sherry & The Mystery of Palo Cortado, a Film

30 October 2015

The event was hosted in New York City by the Instituto Cervantes which is an institution founded by the Spanish government to promote the Spanish language and culture.

The movie follows the journey that Sherry has been on over the last few hundred years.  López-Linares walks through the historic path Sherry has seen and how the new generation of Sherry makers are trying to bring it back to its zenith.  Discovering the mystery behind the spontaneous oxidation and complexity of Palo Cortado is the undertone throughout the fill, yet, at the end, we may be left with more questions than answers.

A wine lover's symphony

After the film, guests were invited out to the garden to enjoy Palo Cortado from the bodegas featured in the film.  They were also treated to Bamboo and Sherry Cobbler specialty cocktails created by Steve Olson.  The libations were paired with tapas from Alcala Restaurant and an amazing Jamón ibérico from Fermín expertly sliced by Raul.
