As part of us celebrating Sherry Week at Butler's come and join us in the shop Friday afternoon for a taster of one of our favourite Sherry's. Bodegas Lustau is a renowned sherry producer with a rich and fascinating history.
Founded in 1896 by Don José Ruiz-Berdejo, a sherry-loving man from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, Lustau began as a humble almacenista, a small winery and warehouse that stored and aged sherry wines. Don José's passion for crafting exceptional sherries soon caught the attention of sherry connoisseurs, and Lustau rapidly gained recognition for its exceptional quality and unique style.
A blend of 80% Palomino and 20% Pedro Ximénez, this exquisite wine offers vibrant aromas of maple syrup, brown sugar, shoe polish, raisin and chocolate. Smooth and rich, the flavours of prune, burned orange peel and sweet spices balance the opulent sweetness. Each wine is separately matured in its own solera for 12 years before blending and an additional three years ageing.
