This year, we're giving independent wine stores across the UK even more reason to get involved with a competition for the promotion of Sherry Wine in the UK independent wine trade.

The top four participating stores will win an all-expenses-paid trip to Jerez in 2025 for a truly immersive experience in the region.

The trip includes exclusive VIP visits to three bodegas, a Michelin-starred pairing experience and luxury accommodation for two nights. For full terms and conditions, scroll down the page.

Terms & Conditions

  1. The Organisers are Chelsea & Co Digital Marketing Agency on behalf of CRDO Jerez y Manzanilla.
  2. Eligibility: The promotion is open to all independent wine stores located in the UK that sell Sherry wines. Participants must be legally eligible to operate as a wine retailer in the UK. For the purposes of this competition, an Independent wine store is defined as a business that is not part of a large chain (max 10 stores) and is not owned by a large corporation and that has a physical premises open to the public.
  3. Promotion Period: The competition will run from 17th June to 10th November 2024. Registrations for participation in the promotion will open on 17th June on the Sherry Week website. Completed entries for judging must be submitted between 10th November and 5th December 2024 via the Judging Entry Form on the Sherry website.
  4. Exclusive Use of DO Jerez Sherries: Participants must exclusively promote and sell Sherry wines from the Denominación de Origen Jerez y Sanlúcar de Barrameda (DO Jerez y Manzanilla) region. Any promotion or sale of Sherry wines from other regions will render the participant ineligible for the promotion.
  5. Registration: To participate in the promotion, independent wine stores must register their events for Sherry Week via the designated website. Registrations must include accurate details of the store's planned activities during Sherry Week.
  6. Merchandise Packs: The first 100 stores to register their events for Sherry Week via the website will be eligible to receive one of the Merchandise Packs, subject to availability. Packs will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
  7. Staff Training: Participants are encouraged to organise staff tastings and masterclasses to enhance staff knowledge and expertise in Sherry wines. Support for these activities will be provided by the DO Jerez. Stores interested in organising masterclasses should contact the promotion organisers anna@chelseaco.agency to arrange a tasting session before 9th September 2024.
  8. Judging Criteria: The four winning stores will be selected based on the criteria outlined in the promotion overview. The Judges will be César Saldaña, President of the Consejo Regulador de Jerez, Patricia de la Puerta, Secretary General of Fedejerez and Chelsea Anthon, founder of #SherryWeek. Judges' decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to the promotion. No correspondence will be entered into.
  9. Prize: The top four participating stores will win an all-expenses-paid trip to Jerez de la Frontera, Spain in Spring 2025. The prize includes exclusive VIP experiences such as visits to three Sherry bodegas, a Michelin-starred pairing experience, and accommodation for two nights and three days. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or alternative rewards.
  10. Notification of Winners: Winners will be notified on 16th December 2024 via the contact information provided in the Judging Entry Form. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond by 31st December 2024, an alternative winner may be selected at the discretion of the promotion organisers.
  11. Publicity: By participating in the promotion, stores consent to the use of their name, store details, and promotional activities for marketing and publicity purposes related to the promotion, without any further compensation.
  12. Compliance: Participants must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to licensing requirements for the sale of alcohol and regulations governing promotions and competitions.
  13. Amendment and Termination: The promotion organisers reserve the right to amend, suspend, or terminate the promotion at any time without prior notice, for any reason, including but not limited to technical issues, fraud, or any other circumstances beyond their control.
  14. Governing Law: The promotion and these terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain.
  15. Acceptance of Terms: Participation in the promotion constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions. Participants who do not agree with these terms should not participate in the promotion.
